More than anything else, Louia Braille wanted to read. He could not accept the fact that as a blind boy, in the year 1821, he was unable to communicate by the written word. So each night, in the darkness of his dormintory room, he punched tiny holes in paper. Braille's system opened the doors of knowledge to those who cannot see.
